A thoughtful gift for our sourdough days
Since we’ve been making homemade sourdough, bread has become part of so many meals and little moments in our family. For my birthday, Dylan gave me this BLACK+DECKER electric knife. He wanted to make slicing all those loaves a little easier for me, and it turned out to be one of those gifts I genuinely love using.
Sometimes the most thoughtful gifts are the ones that fit right into your everyday life. For us, this one belongs beside a fresh loaf, ready for whatever our family is making next.
From tri-tip sandwiches to honey and butter
Lately, we’ve been making a lot of tri-tip sandwiches with our sourdough. A good homemade loaf makes them something we really look forward to, and having a knife I enjoy using makes getting those slices ready that much easier.
Another favorite is much simpler: bread with butter and honey for our girls as an evening snack. Nothing complicated, just a few things we love, coming together at the end of the day. Those are some of my favorite ways to use what we make at home.
Loved enough to share with Amy
I loved this knife so much that I sent my amazing sister-in-law Amy one as an early Christmas gift. She makes several homemade sourdough loaves, too, so I knew exactly who I wanted to share this find with.
That’s what this corner of our website is about: the things that earn their place in our kitchen, make everyday tasks a little easier, and become the kind of finds we pass along to someone we love.
